The beginnings of The Tap Rock Beer Bar & Refuge So excited! I had to share with you. I’ve been blessed to design a restaurant/bar located in Farmington, CT and the restaurant will be called Tap Rock. The style is rustic industrial. I love that style. I really love using and recycling raw material like woods, stone and metals. In this design we are using recycled materials. On the bar we are using wood from a near by salvage yard. Even when demoing the space we are trying to reuse the material for other purposes. ( I will show you what we reused and how we reused it). My contractor is designing and building all the lighting using piping. I’m very blessed to work with talented contractors. There company is called Nu Companies. no website yet for him, but soon I hope because I want to share there info. I’ve attached some pictures for you.( See Below) starting with the before picture. What an exciting project to work on! We went with a rustic industrial theme for the restaurant. Keeping the metal beams and ceiling exposed. Exploring and playing with materials like brick, wood, piping and other metals and concrete. Refinishing the concrete floors. Also Reusing material if possible. The wood planks on the bar is all wood planks from a salvage yard. The contractor created these beautiful lighting fixtures with plumbing piping. The restaurant owner purchased these beautiful rustic long wood tables and chairs and also leather booths from restaurants that where closing for faction of the price. Instead of throwing things out, I’m really big on reusing and re-purposing materials and furniture. Make it your own. Your style! Bring it back to life! Is how I think. Anything I see I always think ” How can I reuses this piece and make it my own.” Is it by simply repainting it are reupholstering it? Hmmm Yes of course! Why not! In my projects I normally try to reuse materials and furniture pieces. Stay tuned to my other blogs. I can show you how to do this and recreate a piece that would fit your space and lifestyle.
